    CTRL keys have gone rogue

    WIndows 10 on a Lenovo Thinkpad. Most recent WIndows update was April 10 (five days ago).

    As of today, my CTRL keys have been doing the wrong thing. They no longer cooperate with shortcut keys (e.g. ctrl + C or ctrl+V no longer work). Instead, left CTRL alone sometimes deletes text. Left and right CTRL sometimes mute or unmute microphone.

    Ctrl+T or CTRL alone, in web browsers, sometimes changes the page zoom percentage.

    I tried:

    uninstalling the keyboard driver in Device Manager, then rebooting the laptop;

    updating my laptop's BIOS from Lenovo support site;

    checking the "sticky key" settings but nothing in Win 10 refers to ctrl key specifically;

    rebooting the laptop a few more times;

    trying the CTRL key in different apps (including Chrome browser, Microsoft Edge, Notepad, and MS Word). Same craziness in all apps.

    Thanks for that suggestion; I uninstalled the KB and rebooted, but the CTRL keys are still wacky.

    How to swap "fn" key with left "ctrl" key on generic desktop

    I found that section in Half Teach mode, and I could press the "fn" key. However, when I selected anything at all in the drop-down list, I got the error box above:
