Windows 10: My LG monitor does not show up as a display in the settings. I looked at tutorials but...

I took a screenshot. I only know the brand my monitor is. I don't know anything else. I looked online and it's not just me who's having this issue. At least I looked online checking if I'm not the only person who had this issue. When I searched "why does my monitor on windows 10 not show up as a second screen but windows detects a monitor" on Bing, I saw this come up: "Usually, Windows 10 can't detect the second monitor due to the incompatible display driver. We recommend that you update your display driver and check if the issue persists. To update the display driver, download the latest one from your monitor manufacturer’s website. If you need further assistance, let us know." from https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...-monitor/1ae5d309-3999-439d-a32c-3d05165808ac and it is from Microsoft so I clicked on it. I saw someone in the reply area say "What happens when pressing Windows key + P and trying to select another projection? Are you able to see the Extend option?

Hoping to hear from you soon." That is from Aileen Alf. I decided to give Windows key + P a go. Okay it worked. But then I was looking for something. Where you can have the second screen as the main screen. It's not there. There are only four options there. Extend might work for now. It's not really a question. More like me just giving information. Thanks,

No display on monitor when TV set as primary display

Issue solved

Removed DVI/HDMI cable from computer and monitor

Step 1: Check if the VGA monitor cable is defective.

1. Turn off computer
   
2. Connect the monitor VGA cable from the monitor to the VGA port on the computer
   
3. Turn on computer, VGA monitor cable is good.
   
   Step 2: Tun off computer
   

1. Connect HDMI Cable to HDMI port and TV
   
2. Turn on computer and TV, there is no monitor black screen
   
3. Click on the Windows logo, select the Settings icon , and then select
   
   System. Under Display there are two squares, labeled 1 and 2
   
   D Click on Advanced Display Settings:
   
   Display information: Display 1- Monitor Display 2 -TV
   
   E Right-click the Speakers icon in
   the taskbar, select Sound, click on Playback devices,

External monitor display settings

I understand that you are facing issues with the display scaling on your external displays. We will certainly look into this for you.

As you are using Vizio TV, you may have to try using custom resolution settings if the in-built settings do not provide the required settings.

For better clarity, please let us know:

• What is the version of Windows 10 that is currently installed on your computer? You can click on Search and type
  winver.
• Are you aware of any recent changes to the system, such as updates, after which you are facing this issue?
• What is the make and model of your computer?

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to check the steps mentioned in the Workaround section in

Windows scaling issues for high-DPI devices

I would also suggest you to check the Display drivers. Please refer

When "Duplicate these Displays" is selected, external monitor displays upside down, but not the Surface Pro screen

After Windows 10 updates were automatically installed last night, my LG external monitor displays upside down when "Duplicate these displays" is selected under Display settings. With other options (Extend these displays, or Show only on 1, or Show only
on 2) the external monitor shows the correct orientation. PC is Surface Pro 3 with Windows 10 Pro operating system. LG monitor is 34UM95-p 34" Ultrawide IPS Monitor. Ctrl-Alt-Up or -Down do not work. Drivers are up to date. Thanks in advance
