  1. My Local Administrator Account wont work since updates

    Hi all,

Since the latest Windows updates I cannot sign in with my "Local Administrator Account" "the username or password incorrect" message appears. The password is 100% correct and the Administrator account is active as Ive checked via CMD prompt.

This happened before about a year back and I set up 2 other users in the Administrator group. Since the latest updates these accounts have been removed from the Admin group and are just basic local users with no Admin privileges, so I have to account to even change anything. I cannot do anything at all. Can someone help as I do not want to wipe the whole laptop. Incidentally, I cannot even retrieve other folders from the Admin account.

I have no recovery point as it prompts for an Administrator user to do this..

Any help much appreciated, this is such a pain.

    Kind regards

    Patrick

    :)

  2. Local account to administrator

Just to be straight with terminology.

You can set up your device with a local account or Microsoft account.

Within each of these options you can then either be an Administrator or a Standard user.

If you go Start, Settings, Account and click on Your Info is it listing you as a local account and just below that are you Standard or Administrator.
