Windows 10: My login page is now showing two accounts

My login page says "The username or password is incorrect. Try again." When I hit "ok" it shows two accounts, with the same name. Apparently they have different passwords. To my knowledge, I never set up a second account. When I look at settings/accounts it doesn't show two accounts, just one. How do I get rid of the second one on the login page - AND how to stop requiring password signin altogether? I live alone, and I never take my laptop anywhere, so there is no need for a password. I've already tried the obvious thing- turning off "Require sign-in" set to "never" but it still requires me

Thanks, but I’m confused by your second paragraph explanation. The list shows an Administrator account and an account labeled Sam and Sam Jones, the latter apparently being the account showing as the Administrator account on the User Accounts page. What is the difference? And where might the Sam account that also shows up on the login screen at start up, i.e. the point of this thread, be?

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to select the appropriate language in login screen at the bottom right corner and check if it helps.

Steps 2: Use On-screen keyboard in the login screen to login and check if it helps.

Pictures thumbnails not showing for a local Windows 10 login account

Thank you for getting back to us. In this case, we suggest that you enable the hidden administrator account by following these steps:

• Click on Start.
• Type cmd, and right-click on it.
• Select Run as administrator.
• Type this command line, and then press Enter:
  
  net user administrator /active:yes
• You should see a message that the command completed successfully. Log out, and you’ll now see the Administrator account as a choice.
  
  
  Note: There's no password for the hidden administrator account.
• Access the hidden administrator account and check if the thumbnails of your picture files are showing.

If the issue persists, we suggest that you use System File Checker tool. This tool will help us to determine
if there are system file corruption that caused the issue to happen.

After doing the above steps, you must disable the hidden administrator account again because we are just using it for troubleshooting:

• Click on Start.
• Type cmd, and right-click on it.
• Select Run as administrator.
• Type this command line, and then press Enter:
  
  net user administrator /active:no
• The administrator account will now be disabled, and shouldn’t show up on the login screen anymore.
