  1. My microphone does not like to cooperate

    Hello

i personally own a bluetooth wireless headset known as the hesh 2. It has served me wonders but i have noticed that as soon as i join a call all my other audio mutes. i do know about the resolution to this problem by disconnecting the headset in the control panel. However this creates another problem by getting rid of my only reasonable microphone. if you could please tell me how to correct my headphone so like that when im in a call i can still hear other audio without having to disconnect any part of it it would be a pleasure.

Thank you for your time and attention brought to this question.

    :)

    Microphone issues

    Hi Michael,

Here are the possible reasons why you're getting an error "The microphone did not pick anything up" when using it:

    • Incorrect settings (microphone is not set as default device)
    • Corrupted or outdated driver
    • Faulty device

For us to isolate the issue, we'd like to know the following:

    • Were there any changes made to your computer prior to this issue(e.g. Windows updates)?
    • Have you tried connecting other microphone to your computer?
    • Have you tried connecting the microphone to the other computer?

In the meantime, we suggest running the Recording Audio Troubleshooter to find and repair problems with recording sound. We also suggest checking if your microphone is set as your default recording device. For troubleshooting steps, please see
    Geethu B's on this
    link.

We're looking forward to your reply.

    microphon

    Hi Hassan,

Thanks for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

If a mic connected to this computer isn’t working properly then it’s likely a settings problem.

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

    • Right-click on the speaker icon in the bottom-right part of the screen.

    • Click on ‘Recording Devices‘.

    • A list of recording devices will appear. Try speaking into your microphone, and see if there any
green bars rising next to one of them while you talk.

    • If you don’t see any green bars skip to step 5.

    • Check if you can recognize which one of the devices in the list is your
microphone. If you found it, click on it to highlight it, and then click
      Set Default.

    • Check again if you see green bars rising when you talk into the microphone. If you do your mic is now correctly setup. If not, continue to next step.

    • Double-click on the device that represents your microphone. The
Microphone Properties window will appear. Click the Levels tab.

    • In the levels tab, drag the slider all the way to the right, until the number on the right says “100“.

    • Click OK and check if it helps.
Hope it helps, reply to us with the status of your issue. We will be happy to assist you.
