Windows 10: My microphone picks ups my computer audio and I do not know why.

I found this issue through discord due to my friends being able to hear videos that I had playing in the background. I had headphones plugged in and the audio was coming from the headphones only. I have a Turtle Beach Ear Recon 200, if that makes a difference. This isn't a discord problem however because the problem persisted in a test trial through the windows voice recorder.Things that I have tried:Updating drivers, I tried updating Realtek drivers through windows but windows says it is up to date.I made sure to uncheck listen to this device.I checked the two exclusive options in my mic's ad

Microphone only picks up audio from headphones?

I currently have a pair of razer kraken pro v2's which are plugged into my computer via a headphone splitter. My computer detects my headphones just fine (audio working and all), but when it comes to using the microphone it doesn't seem to pick up my voice at all and only picks up audio coming out through the headphones.

(EDIT): My microphone can now pick up my voice, but it still picks up sounds from my computer. Any way to fix this this?

• What is the exact brand and model of your microphone?

• Which version or build of Windows device are you using? To know, press
  Windows + R to open the Run window. Type winver and press
  Enter. A new window will open showing the version and build number of your Windows device.
  
• What were the recent changes made on your computer before you experienced this issue?
  
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
• Did you receive any error messages?

• Did you use this microphone normally before? If yes, can you tell us if this was working properly?
• Have you already contacted your manufacturer of your microphone for troubleshooting instructions?
• Can you check if the device was installed properly in the Device Manager? To check it, follow these steps:

1. Press Windows key + X.

2. Click Device Manager.

3. Expand Sound, Video and game controllers.

4. Check if the devices under it have a yellow exclamation mark.

Computer will not pick up audio

Have you tested a different headset on this computer?

I suggest you to try the following troubleshooting steps and check if that helps.

Method 1: Run the inbuilt troubleshooter for Hardware and devices. Follow the steps mentioned below.

Steps:

1. Tap on Windows + I on the keyboard.
   
2. Select Update and Security option.
   
3. Select Troubleshoot option.
   
4. Click on Hardware and devices option and
   Run the troubleshooter.
   

Method 2: Check if the Microphone is enabled and change it to default. Follow the steps mentioned below to set the microphone as default and enable it.

Steps:

1. Right click on Start button and click on
control Panel.

2. Click in Sound, then a new window will open up.

3. In the new windows click on the tab "Recording” and right click in the window and click on
Show Disabled devices.

4. Now check if the microphone is listed there and highlight the microphone and click on "Set as Default" device.

5. Now right click on it and choose
enable.
