I am certain when I login to my Microsoft account I am being directed to a ghost account that has tricked me into providing credit card information.Several months ago my phone to PC link failed. Yesterday I received a message on my phone from Microsoft with a link to restore the link to my PC. Phone Link opened on my PC and I was presented with a QR code that provided a link it did not work and an INSTALL button. Pressing the button led me to sign up for unwanted monthly payments. Is login.live.com/login.srf etc a genuine Microsoft link?

    :)

  2. microsoft account compromised

    Hi Veronica,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I'm Hahn and I'm here to help you with your concern.

I’m sorry to hear that you feel like your Microsoft account was hijacked. That can be a very stressful situation.

If you think your account has been hacked, use our interactive tool to help guide you to the right steps. How to recover a hacked or compromised Microsoft account - Microsoft Support

In addition, here are some steps you can take to recover your account and secure it from future attacks:

    1. Scan your computer with an antivirus and antimalware program to remove any viruses or malware that might have been installed by the hacker.
    2. Change or reset your password as soon as possible. Make sure you create a strong password that is hard to guess.
    3. Check your account settings and review any changes that might have been made by the hacker. For example, check your connected accounts, forwarding, and automatic replies.
    4. Enable two-step verification for your account to add an extra layer of security.
I hope this helps you regain control of your account and protect it from future hacking attempts.

About someone who created a Microsoft family with your account and put you as the child.

Here are some steps you can take to remove yourself from the family and regain control of your account:

    1. Sign in to family.microsoft.com with your Microsoft account.
    2. Click on More options next to your name and select Leave family group.
    3. Select Remove to confirm.

If you are unable to leave the family group, you might need to remove the consent that was given by the adult who added you to the family.

    1. To do that, sign in to account.microsoft.com with your Microsoft account.
    2. Click on Family and then click on Manage consent under your name.
    3. Remove the consent and then try to leave the family group again.

I hope this helps you remove yourself from the unwanted family group.

If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Your Sincerely

Microsoft Account login is not opening

    Hi,

    • Are you able to login to the same account using web browser?
    • What is the exact error message?

I suggest you to reset the Microsoft account password once and check if it helps.

I can't sign in to my Microsoft account - Microsoft Support

    Hope it helps.
