My Microsoft Photos app has recently stopped working with error code -2147219196When I endeavor to open a photo in the photos app, the app starts but doesn't open the photo and then crashes with the following message "File System error -2147219196"I have followed all the usual online suggestions:In Settings I have reset the photos app and I have repaired the photos app several times. I have uninstalled the photos app and reinstalled it 2 or 3 times but the problem still persists.My photos will open in other apps and programs on my PC but not the photos app.Any thoughts and resolution to

Photos app will not open photos - giving error code (-2147219196) and (-2147219195)

After executing windows updates, my photos app no longer works. The app and my windows version are the newest available. When I try to open a photo (jpg), the photos app displays for a second then closes and gives a pop up window that reads "File System
error (-2147219196)". After using the repair and reset options for the photos app, the issue is not resolved, however the error code changes to (-2147219195).

Hello,

Try re-registering Photos app. Perform these steps:

1. Search for Windows PowerShell using Cortana or Windows Search.

2. From results, right click on Windows PowerShell and select Run as administrator.

3. Then type following command and press Enter key:

Get-AppxPackage -allusers Microsoft.Windows.Photos | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Let the command complete.

4. Close Windows PowerShell and check Photos app, it should work fine now.
