My monitor gets black after some time and I tested both Win 10 and 11 on my comp but still the same result. I have a Ryzon 5 4600 CPU and NVDIA 3080 with the latest driver. If I login Remote with Chrome Remote, this is what it looks like: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53532676292_f188a0a210_c.jpg Everything where stable until the last MS update I guess. Before I installed win 10 Home, the comp went like this every 5-15 min, with Win 11 Pro and now it has been stable for 2 days with Win 10, up until this evening that is. I tried Bing AI and, Google and it seems I am not alone with this

    Black Screen. Resolution too low

    Hello,

If the screen resolution set on your PC doesn't meet the correct settings of your monitor, there might be issues on what will be displayed. In Windows 10, you can simply change the screen resolution by following these simple steps:

    • Right-click your mouse on an empty space on your desktop.
    • Click on Display settings.
    • At the left side of your windows, press Display.
    • Under Resolution, you can select the resolution that will be displayed on your monitor.

Here's a sample screenshot of what you'll see:

Let us know how it goes and if you need further assistance, feel free to post back.

  3. Black Screen. Resolution too low

In between switching monitors, not sure how, my computer's resolution changed itself to 640 x 480/60Hz. That's not what I had it on for the TV i used to use as a monitor so not sure how/why it changed. And now when I connect my new monitor to my computer,
my monitor tells me the resolution for my computer is too low and it only shows me a black screen.

I don't own the old TV I used as a monitor before anymore and I've tried connecting the computer to other televisions throughout the house. They all just show black screens. I assume the resolution is too low for them as well.

    How do I fix this?

    Remote Desktop Screen resolution

    Hi Richard,

We would like to ask some questions from you to get more information and to know the best possible resolution to provide.

    • Can you tell us how are you trying to change the resolution of the computer you are trying to remote desktop?
    • Have you tried changing the resolution first of the computer you are trying to remote desktop?
    • Are you getting any error message or the option is grayed out? A screenshot would be helpful.

We look forward to your reply.
