Windows 10: My motherboard died and I had to replace it, now I can't activate windows

I had already had a very bad experience RMAing that same motherboard. I actually had to pay for a warranty repair? Than the problem persisted even after it was "fixed". I couldn't get any answers either via e-mails or phone calls.Shortly after reinstalling the board I smelled something and couldn't read one of my drives. I removed the problem drive and was able to read it remotely and ran a diagnostic on it and it was fine. I didn't think about it anymore. But, the next time I updated, or tried to update the UEFI BIOS, the board died.Having already had a very unfortunate experience with

Motherboard Died - Windows 10 Activation

So my motherboard died (I'm writing this from my wife's laptop) and I have to replace it.
I've replaced many motherboards in my long career and by far the Windows 7 replacements were the easiest.
But now that I have the free Windows 10 upgrade (from Windows 7) on the PC I'm wondering if installing the replacement motherboard will be equally as easy because of the "digital entitlement".
What will I find when I first boot up the new motherboard?
I was at 14393.222 when it failed.

Hello, I had windows 10 installed from the free upgrade a few months ago, and recently my motherboard died so I had to replace it. After replacing it, I get a windows activation error. I found my pc's original product key in the registry and entered it,
but some of the characters are invalid. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, that page does seem to suggest, you can do that, so you should follow the instructions on that page, which should ensure against activation problems after replacing the motherboard, Microsoft do generally provide a one time exemption to change a motherboard
on an OEM licence . . .
