Windows 10: my mouse cursor has been stuck on working in background

Since this new update came out and I have updated windows 11For the past 2 days my mouse cursor has been stuck on working in background and switches to working in background almost instantly after log in Work in the background is not finished yet and they are still the searching on Mouse cursor is not disappearing work in background what could be the problem

Hi All,

For the past 2 days my mouse cursor has been stuck on working in background and switches to working in background almost instantly after log in.

So far I have:

Reviewed task manager and top of the list is antimalware service executable at 10% CPU.

Checked for and updated all drivers for the mouse and have switched mouse with no effect

Installed all windows updates available to me.

Performed a clean boot with no startup apps but still the cursor switched to working in background almost instantly after log in.

The cursor seems to have a slight flicker as well.

My googling hasnt really gotten me anywhere but I have seen similar issues when people were upgrading from windows 8 to 10? And the fact the clean boot didnt stop the issue makes me think its a windows issue?

Although it doesnt seem to be having any effect on performance it is still very frustrating. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I used to burn though a mouse every year back when Played competitive quake 3 and it s mods

Aaaand the ironic thing there is, that no doubt WOULD void the warranty.

Seriously though, thanks for the suggestion but I plan to wait for their response. They said they can't authorize a replacement unless all the troubleshooting steps they emailed me don't work, which they didn't.

I've also contacted Newegg, and they said they'll do anything they can to help get me a manufacturer replacement in the case of the mouse not working with any of Logi's troubleshooting steps and if Logi refuses to replace it.

I had an MX500 that easily outlasted this one with lots of use. Seems to me the more complex the mouse, the more failure prone they are.
