Windows command to adjust Mouse Enhanced Pointer Precision?!

I was using a Dell wireless USB mouse just fine, but it wasn't perfectly accurate like wired mice are, and so I tried a Logitech one. Trying to make it more precise, I used Logitech's SetPoint software to adjust stuff. The mouse still was not as good as the other one, so I unpaired it. Now that I've hooked in the Dell one again, its slow movement is slower, and its acceleration (during fast movement) is more exaggerated, ultimately making the mouse more inaccurate than before. I can't tell if Logitech changed something under the hood in Windows for that's now applying to any mouse , but it seems like it. I think I need to increase the speed for slow movements but slow down the speed for fast movements. I tried adjusting settings again in SetPoint, but it won't recognize the Dell mouse at all (understandable, fine). I tried going into Windows Mouse Settings > Additional Mouse Options > Pointer Options, and could up the basic mouse speed, which made it better for slow movements, but now fast movements are way too fast, and I'm making more mistakes than before. I tried disabling Enhanced Pointer Precision, but then I have to up the basic mouse speed bar to the max... and it's less accurate for pointer placement (more clicking mistakes), and doesn't let me move the pointer across the whole screen without lifting and moving the mouse. This is driving me crazy. Do I need to connect the previous Logitech mouse then change SetPoint settings to what they were before, then unpair and reconnect the Dell mouse to get it to its nice settings previously?! It seems like Logitech changes things under the hood that I don't have access to. I've adjusted acceleration rate on macOS through command-line (CLI), but I'm just not seeing a way to do this through Windows, nor am I aware of any software to adjust Enhanced Pointer Precision acceleration rate.

    How to disable Mouse Acceleration?

    Hi Alex,

Mouse acceleration can indeed hinder the ability to play games where you need precise aim because it causes your mouse to move not only based on movement, but also on speed. You can disable mouse acceleration by following the steps below:

    • Click Start.
    • On the search bar, type Control Panel and select Control Panel in the results.
    • If you are in Category view, click Hardware and Sound.
    • Under Devices and Printers, click Mouse to open the
      Mouse Properties window
    • Click the Pointer Options tab, and uncheck the box next to
      Enhance pointer precision.
    • Click Apply, then OK.

If you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to post a reply.

Turning off Mouse Acceleration on a Logitech Wireless Mouse

    Hi Jacob,

The Mouse Pointer Acceleration option was removed a while ago in Windows

What is more than likely causing the problem is this:

Open the Settings App (gear icon on your Start Menu)

    Go to Devices - Mouse

At the top right click 'Advanced Mouse Options

On the resulting dialog, on the 'Pointers Options' tab, turn off 'Enhance Pointer Precision'

Apply that and close that dialog . . .
