Windows 10: My new computer stopped connecting to my wifi

It says it’s connected, but I’m unable to access the internet. A friend helped me build my new computer yesterday. The Ethernet port hasn’t worked at all, but I was able to connect to wifi yesterday and then all of us sudden after restarting the computer I just couldn’t access any webpages or use programs like steam even though it says I’m connected to my wifi. My wifi is also connected and working fine with other appliances around the house. But I’m also able to connect to my hotspot on my computer. So I’m getting the feeling my wifi is blocking my computer or vice versa but I don’t even know

Is it possible to set up a new manual wifi connection from the command line?

I'm trying to work out a solution to set up ad-hock wifi connections in Windows 8.1 based on the suggestions in a post on Micsrosoft's answers site. Is there any way to do the first few steps:

• go to "Network and Sharing Center"
  
• click "Set up a new connection or network"
  
• double click "Manually connect to a wireless network"
  
• enter the SSID of the ad-hoc network (as shown by "netsh wlan show networks") into the "Network name" field
  
• configure security settings accordingly
  
• uncheck "Start this connection automatically" (important)
  

...without using the windows dialogs?

 

When will the wifi connectivity problems be solved?


OK, so the Windows 10 engineers bollixed up the wifi connectivity part of the operating system. Everybody knows that by now. It seems they are making some progress in resolving it. Now, instead of seeing "Secured, No Internet" on your list of wifi connections, you see "Connected, Secured" EXCEPT no webpages will load. So you really aren't connected. It does seem to be a step in the right direction. Does anybody know when they plan on a full and complete repair of this screw up of epic proportions?

  Start, type winver, and press Enter.
• Are other devices able to connect to your WiFi network without any problems?
• Have you checked with your Internet Service provider if there are any outages in your area?
