Windows 10: My new HP Windows 11 21H2 laptop is not being offered the upgrade to 22H2

My new HP Windows 11 21H2 laptop is not being offered the upgrade to 22H2 despite 21H2 having reached end of service in October 2023. 1 I recently switched on the new laptop for the first time out-of-the-box, it shipped with Windows 11 Home Version 21H2 OS Build 22000.9 pre-installed by HP. Windows Update has now apparently successfully updated it to 2023-10 21H2 22000.2538 Cumulative Update KB5031358, however it has not installed the two more recent monthly Cumulative Updates 2023-11 21H2 22000.2600 KB5032192 and 2023-12 21H2 22000.2652 KB5033369, but perhaps that is to be expected given

Windows 11 compatible but not even offered 21H2??

I have an HP desktop PC and a DELL laptop and both are suitable for Windows 11 although it has not been offered as yet. Both machines have received the latest Windows updates and are on Windows 10 version 21H1 build 1288.

1. I am not interested in upgrading to Windows 11 but, if the machines are suitable for Windows 11, why aren’t my machines being offered the upgrade to version 21H2?
2. Are there issues with 21H2 that caused Microsoft to put an upgrade block on it?
3. I am happy with version 21H1 and I assume I will not be offered the upgrade to Windows 11 until version 21H2 is installed. Am I right in this assumption?

Need HP True Vision Webcam driver for Windows 11 22H2 HP ENVY laptop

Hi OP,

I just spent 2 hours on the phone with HP and what we discovered was after resetting my new HP Envy 360 laptop to its original Factory settings, we could not uninstall Windows 11 22H2.

(The laptop came with 21H2 installed, and I made the mistake of allowing Windows to update to 22H2 a few days ago).

Long story short, HP is going to mail me a recovery USB stick with the original HP Envy x360 OS and have me reload windows 11 21H2 from that USB Stick.

All of this just to get the built-in HP Webcam working again and not crashing like it does in Windows 11 22H2.

The HP representative did say that (as of 1/22/2023) there is *no* HP software driver for the built-in webcam for HP Envy laptops. (Therefore we cannot upgrade to windows 11 22H2 at this time...)

Side-Note: Lenovo seems to have published a new driver for their internal Webcam for windows 11 22H2, so, I am hopeful that HP will be doing the same in the upcoming months.

Windows 11 22H2 on my Windows 11

Hi - my Dell XPS 15 7590 originally came with Windows 10 but I upgraded to Windows 11 without problems. Now running Windows 11 21H2 OS Build 22000.1098

Windows update is not offering me Windows 11 22H2 to download/install.

My Windows Registry does not seem to have any reference to '"DestBuildNum, UpEx, UpExU, and RedReason" keys.

Is there some incompatibility with my system that is stopping Windows Update from offering me 22H2?

I'm also registered for Windows Insider and that does offer me an Insider version of 22H2.
