How to get Nvidia control panel, 3D settings, and physx drivers on W10?

All I have is the Nvidia's 353.62 driver. That's it, no NVidia control panel, no NVidia PhysX drivers, nothing. Just that bare driver which fixed my resolution.

How can I go about fixing this? Or do I have to wait for a new driver from NVidia? (Meaning wait a month and a half)

I can install GeForce Experience. It works without a hitch.

I use my GPU for work, and I need my drivers to work properly. This is urgent.

 

Nvidia Control Panel app(?) not working

I decided to update my nvidia drivers, so I downloaded the latest game ready driver package for my gtx 960, used nvslimmer to trim away the stuff I don't want installed, leaving the install core, physX, and the display drivers, updated, and it seems to have went fine

then I get the following error when I right click and use the nvidia control panel context menu option

The system could not find the filter specified

So I used the steps here to make a backup of the windowsapps folder perms and give myself full unrestricted read/write access, unhide the windowsapps folder, navigate to the folder containing the nvidia control panel, use the nvcplui.exe, and the control panel opens and works just fine

why did nvidia decide to make the control panel a windows app (or a sorta app from what I read up on it), and what must I do to fix the problem I have above

alright, after doing a clean sweep of all things nvidia from my computer, and booting into safemode (minimal) to delete one stubborn folder, I went back into normal boot, and installed the standard version driver of 441.66 from nvidia's older driver archives, and surprise surprise, it brought back the regular non-windows app version control panel

 

Nvidia physx properties

I noticed in the control panel ‘large icons’ view there are two entries for nvidia. One for nvidia control panel and one for physx properties. The physx icon is missing, just a blank sheet. And if clicked it opens nothing, I forget the message about something missing that comes up. It’s almost as if it’s been removed / left over from old drivers (they always update with every feature update). Currently I run a 980ti on 385.69 drivers which seem to be great and rock solid. My question is are the physx properties purely taken care of within nvidia control panel now? I see a section for physx if I open nvidia control panel
