Windows 10: My old Dell computer stopped being able to upgrade Win 10

My old Dell computer stopped being able to upgrade Win 10 with v1803. Every time it tries to do an update it fails and reverts to v1803. At one point I had called MS tech support and they said that the problem is that a driver is incompatible with the newer Win10 versions but they couldn't tell me which. I tried Dell and they told me that my computer is no longer supported and that I should buy a new Dell computer fat chance!!. I bought PCMag's Editor's Choice Driver Upgrade IObit and even after running that the Win10 update failed. I hate to give up as this 'old' PC is perfectly fine as a backup.


I have two questions:


1. Is there a way to tell which driver is incompatible with the upgrade? This would allow me to call the driver mfr and see if he can offer a solution.


2. If that doesn't work, is there a way to disable the Win10 Auto Update so I don't waste my time when it tries and fails.

Dell Photo 966 Printer Not Working After Win 7 to Win 10 upgrade and message from Dell says they are not working on a Win 10 driver for upgrade and if I get it working, no guarantee that all features will work! Help!

Update: Don't believe other comments elsewhere that you need a new Dell Photo Printer 966 due to no driver support from Dell. I kept tweaking and got mine printing again. Delete printer from control panel listing, unplug power, unplug USB, reconnect, and
restart computer, after applying any troubleshooting fixes listed by Win 10. Worked for me! Printer prints again. Keep trying!

Win 10 After Dell replaces a defective Motherboard

Dell replaced my Latitude that was operating with free Win 10 upgrade after a number of failed repair attempts and suggested that I switch the old SSD harddrive to the new computer to retain my programs and files which I did. Now I see a message to activate
windows but this tells me to go to the Win store and buy it. When I attempt to activate, I receive an error code 0x803F7001 that I cant activate Win 10 because the previous Windows wasn't activated prior to upgrading to Win 10 (Possibly because I somehow
was able to download Win 10 to this computer this morning without knowing what I was doing or that I might be doing something wrong . In my MS account both my old and new computers appear as having Win 10 Pro. I see a bunch of things on the internet which
suggest that I need to contact MS since I changed the Motherboard but that it is possible to have the Win 10 transferred if this change was from an original manufacturer while the product was under warranty (frankly I don't understand why Dell wont help me
with this problem) Is there a number at MS or some other way that I can contact about how to switch and activate and if not what will happen to my computer (which is working fine now) if I donot pay the activation fee. Thankyou for your help.
