Windows 10: my old printer is NOT recognized by Win10

The printer is a Dell V515w around 2010... already tried everything EVERYTHING, included YouTube tutorials... yesterday called Dell Customers Assistance... the product is discontinued, so no more updates, no more drivers, no more tech support... they say: "Before disposing the device, try calling Microsoft"... this morning discovered that "calling" Microsoft is a senseless / useless enterprise... it seems that Microsoft disgusts its customers: no phone numbers to speak with a human operator, only a plethora of nice and useless web links... and, BTW, in the meanwhile, my system is even sh

How can I get Windows 10 to recognize an Unspecified Device as a Printer?

I have installed a DYMO printer, but it is not listed as a printer but only as an Unspecified Device. How can I get Windows 10 to recognize an Unspecified Device as a Printer? All printer troubleshooting steps require it to be listed as a Printer, and
all Help solutions assume that it can be recognized as a printer.

 

Win10 can't recognize printer or scanner

Very strange situation. My Win10 cannot recognize old Scanner and Printer.

With earlier versions like Win7 or Win8 there were no problem at all! Didn't need to donwload any drivers...

When I connect printer or scanner, near the windows clock appears message that new device connected, then it show that it's ready to use, but when i open Settings > Printer and Scanner > there are no those devices!

What is the problem?

My scanner is: HP ScanJet 3500c

Printer: HP LaserJet 1020

 

Adding unlisted printer to the Win10 list

!'m not sure how I did it but all seems well now. It was something like Deacon suggested plus a re-boot or two. It's now listed as a printer, not as unspecified.





Update the list still doesn't work.
