I can't even reach my own desktop from the Windows Explorer anymore. The content has been replaced with a shortcut link to OneDrive. And the shortcut no longer works, because I tried removing the link from my computer to OneDrive to stop it from trying to copy everything because that will make it fill up again, meaning I can't use my email anymore. I can not put into words just how bad this is. I fear I've lost months of important work on my computer, because of this cloud link that I never asked for. What the hell is this trash?? How can you construct something like this? I have no option but

    :)

  2. Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.

Using OneDrive as cloud storage only - no local copies

So far I have understood that files that are stored within OneDrive are in fact copies of local files, i.e. files in the cloud are also stored within the OneDrive folder on C:\ taking valuable SSD space..

Considering this (wrong?) idea the 1TB OneDrive space (that comes Office 365) can't be used together with 512GB SSD (nett 470GB, less Windows, applications and some Windows there is not so much space left.

Uploading 2-300GB would not fit anymore then...

Using OneDrive as cloud storage only - no local copies

Actually it is local files mirrored to your Cloud Drive. If you need more space, you are going to have to use either a external drive on your network or a bigger drive in your computer. If you stop syncing to your local folder, you will have to use just the OneDrive Cloud folder and will risk losing any data if you lose connection, while working with a file.
