Windows 10: My OneNote for Windows 10 just synced and over two and a half years of noted have...

I was working on notes for in OneNote for Windows 10 and I synced my notebooks and it wiped information and pages from multiple notebooks. Is there a way to undo the sync or retrieve the data. I have never had this situation happen to me before when syncing. I still have some of the previous information stored on a separate laptop offline, but I'm scared to connect that to the internet if the same thing will happen there. Please help!!

Got it! There's one more step. For the notebook you've chosen for your Quick Notes as described by paulsalter, make sure that that notebook (on each device if you've tablet and PC like me) is syncing to OneDrive, if that's where you keep your OneNote work, as I do.

I wouldn't know how to do that except that OneNote popped up a ribbon telling me the chosen Quick Notes notebook wasn't synced to OneDrive and would I like it to be?

 

Have Sticky Notes Sync with other user settings or like OneNote

Build Sticky Notes to Sync like OneNote or have it sync with user settings like browser favorites.

Many users use Sticky Notes instead of OneNote for many of their "ready access notes" and also use several computers and would like their sticky notes to follow them.

Please consider either above options as a suggestion or maybe even merge Sticky Notes into OneNote as a feature of OneNote.

When using OneNote, all notes are synced to all places you use OneNote. This means you will have access to all notes no matter which device you are on. If you want to keep notes locally on the phone, I suggest you look for another product for notes (since
the main benefit/feature of OneNote is the syncing).
