Windows 10: My OS is on drive C: and documents/data are on drive D:. How to get onedrive to sync the...

I have the OS on a small ssd drive C:. All of the material that I want Onedrive to back up and sync is on a HDD drive D:. How do I set onedrive to sync those files on D:? I am sure that millions of users must have this set-up, but I cannot find any info on dealing with this issue! Thanks!

Sync D Drive with OneDrive

I am using OneDrive to sync my files on my C drive and all is working fine. But I can not find a way to have my D drive connect to OneDrive. I would like my D drive to sync with OneDrive. Does anyone know how to get a D Drive to sync with OneDrive?

A few questions:

When you say that you put the docs on the D: drive, did you merely COPY them from C: to D: or did you MOVE them from C: to D:?

When you open a doc to work on it, how are doing this? Are you going into the application that you are using to edit the doc and choosing to open a recent doc? Are you browsing to the new location of the doc from within the app and selecting the document? Are you double-clicking the doc in the new location? If you could describe exactly what you are doing that would help greatly.

Also, after you save such a doc, are you able to find the updated version of the doc? Where is it; in the old location?

As for OneDrive if you located OneDrive in the tree on the left side in File Explorer, right-click, and choose properties, how much space does it indicate that it is using?





Likewise, if you right-click on the C: drive and choose properties, what does Windows tell us about the space usage there?

No C: but D: drive has all the data

To help you with your concern regarding the data on the drive C:, you're seeing the drive "C:" as the drive "D:" because you're booting your computer outside Windows. When booting your computer outside Windows, the system is reading the recovery partition
as drive C: and the data in the drive C: \ are listed on the drive D: \. Try to boot your computer and try to check again the data in the drive C: \ and see if the data are listed.
