Hello everyone.I am experiencing quite of an headache here, as I'm puzzled whether this "issue" is normal behaviour of W11 or is related to some issues on behalf of my PC or Network Router. I should mention that I am currently running a virtual Linux distro under WSL 2, in case that could perhaps explain somethings.Every other Network's device seems to be working perfectly fine. I have enabled file sharing on my iMac and that appears on my list and is completely accessible with password access. If I would click on my own PC's name, I'd encounter a plain empty folder, not even "Public" appea

  2. Network computers stopped appearing on file explorer network tab

I have a desktop PC running Windows 10. It automatically updates itself, so should have all the latest patches. I also have a Macbook running OSX, and a WDMycloud network storage device. The Windows PC and the WD disc are both connected to the router
by cable. The Mac uses wifi.

Until a few weeks back the Windows PC and the Macbook could see each other. Windows files explorer showed 3 devices on its network tab: itself; WDmycloud; Macbook. It recently stopped showing any devices. I think that this happened after the recent Windows
    update.

After the problem occurred I tried every single solution that I found suggested on the internet - network discovery on; smb enabled in program options; installed smb2/3 driver; rebooted umpteen times; and probably a few more that I cannot remember. But
nothing worked. I can still ping all the above devices from any other. I can transfer files from the Mac to the PC and back. I can map the Mac as a network drive and transfer files to and fro. The Mac can see WDmycloud as a disc and transfer files to and
fro, but Windows file explorer no longer lets me do this. The WDmycloud app still works on Windows, but does not have the drag and drop option in Windows file explorer.

Yesterday, for no apparent reason, Windows suddenly started showing its own system in file explorer network tab, but not the others.

I called Microsoft telephone support today as a last resort, and it really is a last resort. Essentially they refused to help because they do not recognize the system model.

I feel that I have exhausted all avenues. Has anyone got any suggestion that I might not have tried?
