    If Paint 3D won’t save an inserted text, it can be related to an error with the application itself or a software conflict has occurred. To help us isolate this concern, we suggest that you run the
    troubleshooter for Windows apps. This tool is usually being used to detect issues with the Windows applications and to provide a quick fix at the same time.

    MS Paint crash when using text tool

    Thank you for the reply; I'm sorry I could not respond sooner.

    I tried each step you recommended, but unfortunately the problem persists.

    It seems that all of the other Paint tools work fine, it's just the "insert text" function that does not. When I click on the icon in the menu bar, I see the "blue spooling circle" for about 5 seconds or so, and then the program crashes and closes out.

    Any other ideas?
