Windows 10: My password options fingerprint, PIN, Passcode, Face ID are all showing unavailable. I have...

I have updated and restarted my computer and it still wont work. Under all password options it says "this option is currently unavailable" and "something went wrong. Try again later."

No Password option and PIN (this option is currently unavailable) on Windows 11

I just bought a new laptop recently, and at first set up they gave me only pin as an option. When I want to change my pin to password, there is no option, only face recognition, fingerprint, PIN, and physical key. Three of them saying this option is currently unavailable. What should I do regarding 1) no password option and 2) PIN (this option is currently unavailable)?

Hi, I've seen lots of posts similar to my problem, but nothing has seemed to solve it. My Windows Hello, Fingerprint, and PIN says "this option is currently unavailable" My hello face has never worked despite my device having a camera. I used to have the
fingerprint and PIN working up until a few days ago, but I turned the PIN off because I wanted to change it. They won't turn back on now. I have tried System Restore, Registry Editor, uninstalling the BIOS fingerprint scanner, and Windows and Lenovo are fully
updated. I don't know how to get back these features. It's so annoying to type in a long password.

 

PIN + Fingerprint but no password option?


Preinstalled OS on new laptop w/fingerprint reader. Starting the machine I was prompted for a PIN and then my fingerprint but not a (the) password that I use on my Win7 machine and is required for various installed programs and the home network. I must be blind but Settings/Accounts/Sign-in Options is all for my MS account not the machine.

Nothing under Settings/Privacy or /Updates and Security.

Okay, I'll bite, where is 'give this OS a password' hidden?
