Windows 10: My pc cant recognize my mic's driver.

My pc says that it cant recognize my mic driver and I don't understand how to fix it because other wise it says that my mic works perfectly. But when I use my mic it does not work. How can I fix it? And by the way my mic worked before and it got like this after an update.

The next step is what I suggested originally. Try it in a friend's PC or take it to Best Buy and ask them to try it one of their PC's. Have to confirm the mic is working OK.

 

PC not recognizing Headphone Mic

Hi all; recently my computer had a Windows 10 update, and now my PC won't recognize my headphone mic. Previously, I had no issues with it on this PC; I would plug it in the headphones jack and be able to set it up.

Now, however, I can either plug it in the headphones jack and the microphone won't be recognized, or plug it in the mic jack and the mic will be recognized but I can't hear anything.

I've looked online and have performed a lot of troubleshooting tips. I've installed the latest audio drives and still no luck. If anyone has any insight, I'd be very grateful.

Some of the steps like the Troubleshooter are designed to try to force the Mic to be recognized.

Is the Mic discovered in another device?

When you right click volume icon in System Tray to choose Open Sound Settings, does it who up in dropdown menu for Input Devices? Run the Troubleshooter.
