Windows 10: My PC crashes / bluescreens when playing certain games.

This specifically happens when playing graphically intensive games such as Call of Duty and Forza. It runs fine the rest of the time, is there anything I can do to figure out the issue? I have reinstalled Windows and run repairs and nothing seems to work.

Computer bluescreening on certain games

Hello, I'm having problems with my computer bluescreening on certain games. It seems to only happen when playing Rainbow Six: Siege, Path of Exile, and Just Cause 3.

Here are my PC specs if they are needed:

Windows 10

i74930k

Gigabyte GTX 1070

Sabertooth x79 (Motherboard)

16GB DDR3 RAM

I'm getting the 0x124 bug check code for the crashes. (WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR)

 

pc has been constantly bluescreening

random bluescreens have been happening every 10-20 minutes. they vary in error codes so there is not just 1 item causing it. typically, i’ve noticed that when i am playing a game the bluescreens rarely occur as opposed to when i’m not playing game they occur very often. what fixes are suggested? i’ve done sfc tool, it said it found corrupted files and fixed them but bluescreens keep occurring.

(edit) forgot to mention that i’ve also factory reset my pc to get rid of the issue, and i still constantly get bluescreens. google and discord also crash occasionally along with the entire pc. only things that don’t crash are games

 

Crashing when playing certain games.

Just going through things step by step to make sure I've done them all.
Entered powercfg -h off, but there wasn't any confirmation etc so unsure if this worked.

Other conversations led me to believe that it was a RAM issue, so I have since upgraded my RAM but the issues persist. I've also tried changing ram slots, loading only one ram stick etc as suggested in previous posts.

At the time I had not been overclocking, but the problem persists whether I'm overclocked or not - so currently running with A-XMP profile 1 enabled (msi b450 gaming plus max mobo). I also currently have "precision boost overdrive" enabled, but didn't at the time of crashes.

My main issue now is severe stuttering in games (not the game alone, but the entire pc itself freezes for a split second.) If this is no longer a suitable forum for my topic please let me know and I can move it!
