My PC does have a TPM 2.0 but Windows Update and PC Health Check say it isn't compatible.

Hello. My PC is few years old and using a Kaby Lake i7 7700hq CPU, this by itself do not insure compatibility but device manager do show me that I do have a TPM 2.0 module which should insure full compatibity with Windows 11.But the PC health Check and Windows update are saying my PC is not compatible. Is it a oversight by Microsoft ? Can I reasonably do the process to force install Windows 11 and can expect it to work as intended and with update? In advance thanks for your help.

    :)

“Your organization manages updates on this PC” Win 11 PC Health Check

Hi, in the following you will see a second tool which you can try- 3rd party. Note these do not give a comprehensive account. In the rest of the the data I have collated, as the site ie getting many of these queries, you will find other aspects to check.

This suggests you or a 3rd party tool has set a registry value equivalent to a group policy. Organisations use group policy, that's where that comes. (Individual users with Pro up can use that too). You don't say if you have Home or Pro.

Have you perhaps disabled or configured Windows Update by some means?

I now went through the list of supported processors and my i7-6650U is not on the list. The computer is 5 years old Microsoft Surface Pro. Bummer!

PC Health Check - Windows 11

I guess Windows 11 is the best thing to happen in the TPM module market. Now scalpers get the snatch those up and raise prices in feeding off people's fears or misunderstandings of things. Many will be chasing after a module they don't need because their PC already has one in one form or another. Anyway...
