Windows 10: My PC doesnt let me use my microphone and headset at the same time.

I just got this computer and it was already like this any other thing I plug my headset into works fine even a windows laptop


Whenever I plug my headset in a microphone jack what should usually happen is I can hear and talk through it but no, audio goes out my speaker and I can talk. But if i plug it into the headset jack then it lets me hear but doesnt let me talk.


Can you help me?

Original title: Laptop Microphone totally ignores headset microphone

I have a laptop with an integrated microphone, whilst having a headset with a microphone included.

The microphone on the headset doesnt work, only uses the laptop microphone which is really hard for me to chat with my buddies.

I can hear fine on the headset, the microphone doesnt do anything.

Can someone give me the resolution for this problem?

(My headset is a HyperX - I dont know what type but its a HyperX.)

I have same headset as well. But to be sure mine is the Kingston HX model # HX-HSCS-BK.

I can hear other players while in a online game, but I cannot talk to them.

How do I get the mic on my Kingston headset to work?

In order to help you resolve issues with the microphone on headset, we suggest the you run the built in troubleshooter in you PC. Here are the steps:

• In the Search Box, type Troubleshoot and press
  Enter.
• Look for and select Recording Audio, and press Run the troubleshooter.
• Follow the onscreen instructions.
