    My PC freezes every time I close program.


    Every time I close a program, my taskbar does not get updated and everything becomes unresponsive... When I click the taskbar a few times my screen turns black, and everything is fine. This is annoying because is happens every time i close a program.I've had Task manager open when this has happened and my Internet spiked to 100+% and my processor and graphics card spiked only a little bitt. It seems like my I've looked trough my drivers and everything seems up to date. My internet never spikes except for when I close a program.I have a:- Intel Core i5-12700KF- ASUS Prime Z690F- Corsair Vengean

    PC Freezes for 1-2 seconds when launching certain programs

    The PC would freeze for a few seconds when I open certain programs the first time after waking the PC from sleep. It would not freeze if I open the program again after the first time, until I sleep the PC again. Programs that would freeze are e.g. MPC, Potplayer, etc.

    System specs in profile

    Tried:
    -Clean Windows 10 install, twice
    -Newest drivers
    -New Monitor, New TV

    Any Suggestions? Thanks!

    Windows Creator Update Freezes Some Programs when typing

    Thanks for the reply. Since the Creator's Update is giving you some issues, we suggest reverting back to the previous update. Here are the steps:

    • Open Settings window.
    • Click Update and Security, then Recovery.
    • Select Get Started, under Go back section.

    Once done, it will restart your PC. After the restart, please do check if you'll still experience freeze moments on any programs you are working on.

    We understand your concern as the PC freezes and unfreeze after 5 minutes and this happens multiple times.
    In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below.

    • What is the Windows 10 version and Build installed? (Type
      winver in Windows search/Run command)
    • What is the make and model of the PC?
    • Are you aware of any recent changes on the PC, prior to this issue?


    Meanwhile, we would suggest you to perform the steps as mentioned in this article:

    Also, please refer this
    safe mode     article and start the PC in safe mode. If the issue persist in safe mode then perform clean boot in safe mode environment,
    put the PC in software clean boot and check if it freezes, refer the article

    How to perform a clean boot in Windows    . A ‘clean boot’ starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs.



    If performing a clean boot fixes the issue then, please refer to the section
    How to determine what is causing the problem after you do a clean boot
    to check which program is causing the issue.



    Note: After you finish troubleshooting, follow the section
    Reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting
    to reset the computer to start normally.
