  2. PC goes into black screen and froze

The monitor has signal. Its just it froze and num lock froze and mouse.

    What could be the culprit?

Here is what happened from start.

My brother is browsing the net with facebook and youtube and after a couple of hours, the screen turn to white and froze. So he did a reset and when it boot up it says windows didnt load correctly and it never booted up.

The next morning, i reformatted a new drive hoping its just an OS problem. But the problem is that in the desktop suddenly it will turn to black screen and froze the pc.

Now, made another clean install and when installing AMD driver, during the installation where it should blink and flicker the pc froze with black screen. So this is a gpu issue?

PC froze, had to turn off PSU, seems fine now - cause for concern?

My PC is a few years old and is doing fine (had some issues related to broken RAM partially corrupting the OS but that's fixed now). However, I just had a hopefully one-off incident occur and am not sure if I should take any futher action about it. Bullet points for succintness:
    • Sleep, hybrid sleep, and hibernate are all disabled. PC is set to turn off the monitors after 10 minutes of inactivity, which is what I assumed happened until it didn't respond.
    • The PC had been on overnight and had the monitors sleeping for that whole time. It was behaving normally until this occured after ~30min of use after I and the PC woke up. It had been on for about 24 hours in total.
    • Applications running at the time: just Firefox and Sticky Notes, plus my normal background apps (GHub, Razer Synapse, etc) Edit: also the W10 clock, I was running the stopwatch.
    • During the period it was unresponsive, the CPU error light on the motherboard turned on. It's a B450 Tomahawk Max which has apparently had issues with the CPU light erroneously coming on. It's off now after a reboot.
    • Did not respond to peripherials being moved/pressed. Did not respond to hard shut down via power button. I had to turn off the PSU and unplug it from my UPS for a few minutes.
    • Restarted and everything seems fine.
    • W10 (up to date via a recent repair install), Ryzen 3700X using Ryzen Power Plan Balanced.
    • Never had any other issue like this. Usually turns off the monitors and mouse/kbm/etc and wakes up instantly when prompted.
... Should I be concerned? Did the CPU have a brain fart this one time? The PC seems to be behaving normally, there are no errors in Event Viewer that I've seen. No data loss, no weird behaviour. It was like it locked up or froze from an application, except it was while the monitor was off and did not respond to the power button. There've been no other CPU-related issues. There was an incident yesterday where I accidentally hit 100% RAM consumption with Blender (I subdivided too hard lol) but that's just the RAM.
