Windows 10: My pc has been doing a black screen or any other color

So my pc has been doing a black screen or any other color and i have to fix it by restarting the graphics drivers. This usually happens when playing games i have gtx 980. I have seen that my hdmi cable is little loose and broken i dont know if its causing the problem please help me

Window background color - I don't appear to be able to do this on windows 10 as the change color scheme bit isn't there.
