    upgrade this unit and what I need to do to get the upgrade invitation?

    Windows 10 Reserved, but I don't want to/can't install it (work software conflict)

    Andre, I am running Win 10 Preview in a Dual boot system with Win 7, on my old Dell Laptop, and I am very happy with it and I was looking forward to installing the final version when it was released by Microsoft on the the 29th.

    I reserved a copy for this laptop, and used the reservation syatem to check it was OK for Win 10. It passed.

    No mention of needing NX on the processor.

    I have received the invite to download the update into win 7, the files downloded, prepared to install, ran the install, then Microsoft decided that my pc was not suitable for Win 10 because my processor is not NX capable.

    I have run Win 10 Preview fron Bulid 10074 right upto Build 10240 on this laptop ans was very impressed, but now I cannoy proceed.

    Very disappointed with the Microsoft checks.

    So here it is guys. You need to have KB2952664 and KB3035583 installed. Microsoft just resent KB2952664 on June 9, 2015. If you really must have the icon I can help you get it, but there is not need. Microsoft will offer Win 10 to the people who did not reserve it as long as you meet the criteria.

    If you have both of the updates. Go to this link https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...e-issues/en-gb Download it to your destop and run it. This will help to fix any problems in your Windows Update. Then copy and paste this into Notepad.

    reg add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Appraiser" /v UtcOnetimeSend /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f

    schtasks /run /TN "\Microsoft\Windows\Application Experience\Microsoft Compatibility Appraiser"

    :CompatCheckRunning

    schtasks /query /TN "\Microsoft\Windows\Application Experience\Microsoft Compatibility Appraiser" | findstr Ready >nul

    if NOT "%errorlevel%" == "0" ping localhost >nul &goto :CompatCheckRunning

    schtasks /run /TN "\Microsoft\Windows\Setup\gwx\refreshgwxconfig"

    Save it in Notepad as ReserveWinX and in the next dropdown make it " All Files". Save to desktop then run it. It worked for me.

    Sorry, that was the wrong test on my last post. Her is the right one. LOL

    If you don’t think any of these conditions apply to you, and you’re still not seeing the icon, you can also try running the solution below, which will verify your device meets all the prerequisites and then turn on the Get Windows 10 app:
    1. Open Notepad
    2. Copy the following text and paste it into Notepad:
    REG QUERY "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\UpgradeExperienceIndicators" /v UpgEx | findstr UpgEx
    if "%errorlevel%" == "0" GOTO RunGWX
    reg add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Appraiser" /v UtcOnetimeSend /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f
    schtasks /run /TN "\Microsoft\Windows\Application Experience\Microsoft Compatibility Appraiser"
    :CompatCheckRunning
    schtasks /query /TN "\Microsoft\Windows\Application Experience\Microsoft Compatibility Appraiser"
    schtasks /query /TN "\Microsoft\Windows\Application Experience\Microsoft Compatibility Appraiser" | findstr Ready
    if NOT "%errorlevel%" == "0" ping localhost >nul &goto :CompatCheckRunning
    :RunGWX
    schtasks /run /TN "\Microsoft\Windows\Setup\gwx\refreshgwxconfig"
    3. Click File, and then Save As
    4. In the File name box, change the file name to ReserveWin10.cmd
    5. Then click the dropdown next to Save as type, and select All files (*.*)
    6. Select the folder you would like to save the file to. For this example, let’s choose to save the file

  11. Hi Really1, take a look at this thread

    Solved Get Windows 10 (gwx) app: Appraiser and Reservation notification icon - Windows 10 Forums

    let me know if you see anything that is different in your procedure - I'll be glad to add it over there.

    There's a batch file that does most of the work, but the 8.1 KB check needs to be modified (it checks for one KB twice)

    I'm not sure if this is what you meant by I can't download a file here, but you can attach files and images on the forum.

    Thank's for the link on how to attach files.

    That would have made it much easier.
    I have three computers and decided to do a clean install of win 7 pro, and update that one with Windows 10 and see how it works out.
    I found three similar types cmd files online that should bring up the icon. I tried the same one your link goes to first. For some reason it didn't work for me. It's probably because of the problem you pointed out. The only one I found that worked for me was the one I posted. I know I really don't need the icon but I figured, why not. *Smile

  13. My PC has not received the invitation to reserve Win 10

    I compared the fixWin10_full.bat file against what you posted to see if there were additional steps. Darn , they compared identical (after removing an echo and correcting white space). I was really hoping there was something that wasn't included - you know ... that golden nugget *Wink

    It's a strange thing - it might just be subsequent executions or a matter of time - I'm trying everything that seems reasonable.

    You're right - it isn't needed ... you have a full year after RTM to update to Win10.
    if I get GWX to show up, I'll see what it does and then remove it by uninstalling KB3035583 in Windows Update.

    Thanks for posting what worked on your machine.

    Bill

  15. I've got a question...

    This is regarding my ASUS Tablet with Windows 8.1 Pro x86 (Windows is activated of course).

    The Tablet currently has Windows 10 reserved and after looking at this post, i took a curious look at the KB used to reserve it and noticed that KB2952664 was applied.

    Now why was KB2952664 applied (via Windows Update) to reserve Windows 10 for this Tablet when that KB is for Windows 7 x86?

    I am a very well versed (never a Master) in Computer Hardware and Software but, this kinda takes the cake for me.

    I would love to know as a lesson learned as to why.

    Thanks a bunch!
