    My PC is constantly playing the USB Connect/Disconnect sound on repeat and the Device...


    The Issue:I have a PC that I built and have used for years with no issues. I recently upgraded the CPU to a 5700X3D, I updated the BIOS successfully before doing the install. It worked perfect for a couple of days, then last night I attempted to change the RGB colors on my CPU cooler fans so I installed OpenRGB. I think it messed up some of my drivers or something... It detected my CPU fans initially then couldn't reconnect to them. I shouldn't have downloaded it...I don't actually care about RGB that much. Mostly I wanted to dim the lights a bit.Now the USB Connect/Disconnect sound plays con

  2. The USB Disconnect sound is constantly playing.

    The USB Disconnect sound is constantly playing. In the hidden Icons menu, if I am fast enough, I can click on the USB devices icon to see what is connected. It shows as Generic USB 2 hub, or something similar.

    In device manager, I cannot see this device, as when it connects and disconnects, the device manager refreshes and never shows up.

    This is still happening when I disconnect ALL USB devices connected to my PC, including my keyboard and mouse.

    When I do manage to click on the USB devices icon in the Hidden Icons menu, and then click safely remove on the device, it shows up in Device manager as Generic USB Hub. It has the USB Icon with the warning Triangle.

    Its properties say:
    Device Type: Universal Serial Bus controllers
    Manufacturer: (Standard USB HUBs)

    Location: Port_#0011.Hub_#0001

    Device Status: Windows cannot use this hardware device because it has been prepared for "safe removal" but it has not been removed from the computer. (Code 47)
    To fix this problem, unplug this device from your computer and then plug it in again.

    All my drivers for this device are up to date.

    Hi,

    The issue with connect/disconnect sounds could be due to the following:

    • USB hub problem.
    • Loose mouse, keyboard, monitor or USB connector
    • Outdated software drivers
    • Sound settings

    We would like to know more information:

    • Have you done any changes on your computer prior to the issue?
    • Have you checked if your devices are plugged/connected properly to your computer?
    • Is the issue happening when playing an specific game only?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

    1. Uninstall and reinstall USB drivers: In Device Manager, right-click on the USB Hub device, select "Uninstall device," and then restart your computer. Windows will automatically reinstall the drivers.
    2. Disable USB selective suspend: In the Power Options settings, disable the USB selective suspend feature. This feature allows Windows to power down USB devices to save energy but can sometimes cause issues.
    3. Disable USB Root Hubs: In Device Manager, expand the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" category, right-click on each "USB Root Hub" entry, and select "Disable device." Restart your computer and check if the issue persists. If it does, re-enable the disabled USB Root Hubs.
    4. Try different USB ports: Connect the USB device to different USB ports on your computer to check if the issue is specific to a particular port.
    5. Test the USB device on another computer: Connect the USB device to another computer to determine if the problem lies with the device itself.
    6. Disable Power Management for USB Hubs: Go to Device Manager.
      • Locate the USB hubs (Universal Serial Bus controllers) section.
      • Right-click on each USB Root Hub and select "Properties."
      • In the "Power Management" tab, uncheck the option that allows Windows to turn off the device to save power.
