  1. My PC is in an infinite boot loop after an interrupted update.

2 days ago, on Monday, my PC got stuck on an update and I turned it off. Then after trying to turn it back on, it won't start up. I left it for 40 minutes and still won't start up. Then I pulled out the plug and after plugging it back the PC worked properly again. Yesterday, on Tuesday I did the same thing. I let it turn on, waited until it fails, pulled out the plug, plugged it back in and on the first time it worked. However today I spent 2 hours doing this technique. Nothing worked. I tried changing BIOS settings, disabling and enabling boot, nothing worked. I finally used my father's lapto

  2. Update interruption causing infinite loop

    Hi,

From the above description, I understand the computer is not booting after interrupted Windows 10 Anniversary update. Please reply to a few questions asked below for better understanding and further assistance on the issue:

    • What is the make and model of the computer?

    • Which was the previous Windows version installed on the computer?

    • Did you try performing Startup repair?

Method 1: Troubleshoot black screen problems in Home edition by following steps from the link below and check if it helps.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14106/windows-10-troubleshoot-black-screen-problems

Method 2: If the issue persists, repair the boot partition of the computer by creating a Windows 10 Bootable media (i.e. USB or DVD) using
Media Creation Tool and follow the steps below to check if the issue is resolved.

    • Insert the Windows installation disc in the disc drive or connect
USB media and then start the computer.

    • Press a key when the message Press any key to boot from CD or DVD appears.

If your PC does not detect the media automatically

      • During the restart process, read the screen for any instructions that explain how to interrupt normal startup and enter the basic input/output system (BIOS) setup utility. Most PCs use the
F2, F10, ESC, or DEL key to begin the
        BIOS Setup.

      • Look for a tab in the BIOS Setup Utility that is labeled
Boot Order, Boot Options or Boot. Following the directions on the screen, use the arrow keys to go to the
        Boot Order, then press Enter.

      • Locate the CD, DVD, or USB flash drive (this might be called
Removable Device) in the Boot list. Following the directions on the screen, use the arrow keys to move the drive up so that it appears first in the Boot list. Press
Enter. The boot order sequence is now changed to boot from the CD, DVD, or USB flash drive.

      • Press F10 to save your changes and to exit the
BIOS Setup Utility. Select Yes in the confirmation window. The PC will
restart. Allow the PC to restart normally. The scan will take a few minutes and remove any malware that may be infecting your computer.

    • Select language, time,
currency, keyboard or another input method and then click
      Next.

    • Click Repair your computer.

    • Click the operating system that you want to repair and then click
      Next.

    • On the Choose an option screen, select
Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Command Prompt.

    • Type the following commands:

      BOOTREC /SCANOS

      BOOTREC /FIXMBR

      BOOTREC /FIXBOOT

      BOOTREC /REBUILDBCD

    • After commands are executed, check for the command status,
restart the PC and check if the changes are effective.

Write to us with the status of computer stuck in infinite loop after interrupted Windows 10 Anniversary update in the same post for further assistance. Your reply is most important for us to ensure we assist you accordingly.

  3. Windows 10 Infinite Boot Loop

No, there is no storm. We have electrical problems here in our home which causes power shortage. Maybe you are right. The power interruption might be the cause of the infinite boot loop but i really cant get the DVD to boot. Even the 1st boot priority is set to cd/dvd, still wont work
