  1. My PC is unable to boot

I am using HP pavilion g6 series. At first it was working perfectly. Now anytime I turn on my PC I get repairing disk errors onlocal disk C.after about 6 hours the PC is still doing that.when I skip disk error checking the PC starts running very slow.even after imputing my password it still sends me back to the screen saver with the screen lock.with the PC still working slowly I patiently wait nd input my password.it welcomes me then goes back my screen saver with lock.

    :)

  2. Unable to boot the PC

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

We understand your concern as you are unable to boot the PC. In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below:

    • What is the Windows 10 version and Build installed? (Type
      winver in Windows search/Run command)
    • What is the make and model of the PC?

    • Are you aware of any changes on the PC prior to this issue?

I would suggest you to export and delete the BCD store and rebuild the BCD store. Refer the steps mentioned below:

    1. Create
      a bootable media
and boot the PC using the media.
    2. On
the initial setup screen, select the language and other
      preferences
and click on Next. (If you don't see the setup screen, your PC might not be set up to boot from a drive. Check your PC manufacturer's website for info on how to change your PC's boot order, and then try again.)
    3. Now,
      click on Repair your computer.
    4. On
the System Recovery Options screen, select Troubleshoot>
      Advanced options > Command Prompt.
    5. Now
type in the commands and hit Enter:

      bcdedit /export C:\BCD_Backup

      c:

      cd boot

      attrib bcd -s -h –r

      ren c:\boot\bcd bcd.old

      bootrec /RebuildBcd

  4. My PC is unable to boot

Unable to boot windows due to missing or corrupt files

    Hi Callum,

There are several reasons why your PC isn't booting properly. One of which is because of broken boot data configuration components. To isolate the issue, we highly suggest you to boot your PC in Safe Mode. Given that you cannot access the setup screen, please
    follow these steps:

    Do the improper shutdown process:

    • Turn on your computer.
    • When the Windows logo is visible, unplug the computer. Do this thrice.
    • At the 4th boot, simply wait for the Windows Recovery Environment window to appear.

After doing the improper shutdown process, please follow these steps:

    • On the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot.
    • Click Advanced options then, Startup Settings.
    • Click Restart.
    • Once the PC has restarted, press the F4 key to boot in Safe Mode.

Let us know if the resolution worked for you.
