Windows 10: My PC is using my WIFI instead of ethernet, despite saying my Ethernet is connected.

Hi,My Pc has been out of action for a few months now due to network issues. I use Ethernet as my WIFi is not strong enough to run games. A few months ago, my connection completely went, ping spiked on everything and everything went laggy- despite my ethernet still being connected and displaying no problems. I got new ethernet, flushed DNS, network reset, reset my router, moved my pc closer and still nothing. It has recently come to light that despite saying that my ethernet is fine and connected, that my PC has actually been running on my regular wifi, which of course is not strong and is the

Windows 10 No Longer Connects to Ethernet and WiFi

This week brought Win10 ver 1903 and I can no longer get WiFi to connect if the ethernet cable is plugged in. If I boot with ethernet, manually trying to connect WiFi silently fails. If I boot without ethernet, WiFi is automatically connected yet drops
if I plug in the ethernet cable. Both the WiFi and the ethernet work fine by themselves, just not at the same time so I don't think it is a driver problem.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks for the suggestions. I must say you cast a pretty wide net there.

I have run the network diagnostic with ethernet connected and WiFi not. It finds nothing useful. Both ethernet and wifi are configured private. Since each of the networks works by themselves the rest of the items suggested there do not seem relevant.
It has something to do with the version 1903 and two networks at once.

This is a new mini pc. When I went thru the initial setup program it established an internet connection at the beginning. An ethernet connection was listed but with a note saying "no connection possible" even though I had a cable from my modem to the pc.
I was able to connect to the same modem thru WIFI. I just figure a hardwire connection is best.
