Windows 10: My PC isn't receiving any audio from my microphone

Hi all,


I've been searching all over the internet for a solution to this problem which has surfaced overnight and I'm at a dead end after trying all the solutions that have worked for everyone else. As the title says, my PC detects my headset microphone but speaking into it doesn't yield any sound input. I am using voicemeeter but even switching the sound input device in my PC settings to my headset microphone doesn't work. The headset I'm using is the HyperX Cloud 2 with the USB adapter.


I've tried:

• uninstalling and reinstalling devices and drivers
• restarting my computer (power off and unplugging)
• using antiviruses and registry cleaners
• checking for settings in sounds/sound settings which are incorrectly set
• checking for settings in privacy>microphone which are incorrectly set
• seeing if my devices are correctly plugged in, then unplugging and replugging in
• testing the headset on my Xbox, which it works perfectly on
• using different USB ports
• using the Windows 10 troubleshooter

I have not damaged my headset or the adapter recently so I don't suspect either has broken internals. I've been looking all over for solutions and I'd really appreciate some help.

You may experience problems with a device due to an issue with its driver or the hardware device itself. To narrow down the issue, we'd like to ask the following questions:

• Were there any changes made on your computer settings prior to this issue?
• What are the troubleshooting steps that you've tried so far?
• Which version of Windows 10 are you currently running? To check your build, go to
  Start > Settings > System >
  About.
• Have you tried using the microphone on a different computer?
• Have you tried using a different microphone?

Printer isn´t working after latest update.

After the latest update from Windows, my Canon Pixma ip6600 printer isnt working. In Device Manager it shows up as working properly but when I go to print it isn´t listed as an option in any programs. Troubleshoot suggests it´s a USB 2 printer on a USB
3 port and that that´s the problem but that cant be since it worked fine before the update. I´ve tried to uninstall and plug it back in but that doesn´t work either.

• Can you check if the device was installed properly in the Device Manager? To check it, follow these steps:

1. Press Windows key + X.

2. Click Device Manager.

3. Expand Sound, Video and game controllers.

4. Check if the devices under it have a yellow exclamation mark.
