Windows 10: my pc keeps freezing and i can move my mouse but cant click on anything

Hey so i have an processor: i9 13900k motherboard: asus z2790 e-gaming wifiram: 128gb ddr5 corsair dominator 5200mhz cl40gpu: RTX 4080 aorus xtreme water coolpowersupply: corsair rm850and everytime i play a game regardless of how high end or graphically demanding it is my computer freezes but i can hear the audio and there are times when the game keeps working but the other monitor is frozen ive changed the ram twice now the temps are fine for the gpu updated all my drivers still doesnt fix the issue my only option left is to just throw this out of the window

In some instances, your mouse may keep on freezing if there are some pending updates on your Windows 10 PC. We suggest you install available Windows updates and check if that helps you. If the issue still persists, you may run
Hardware Troubleshooter Drivers.

PC freezes while using mouse

I understand that the mouse freezes when you try to use it on the PC. For further clarity on the issue, please respond to the questions below.

1. Are you aware of any changes made to the PC?
   
2. Which build version of Windows 10 are you using currently?
   
3. How is the mouse connected to the PC?
   
4. What is the make and model of the PC?
   

I would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below and see if that helps.



Method 1:



Perform a Clean Boot on the PC and see if the mouse still freezes. Refer the article

How to perform a clean boot in Windows



Performing a clean boot will start the computer with minimal set of drivers and programs, to determine whether a background program is causing the issue. Some of the Startup programs will not load after performing a clean boot on
the computer. However, that functionality will return when you reset the computer to start normally after finishing the troubleshooting.



If the mouse does not freezes after performing Clean Boot, then please refer the section
How to determine what is causing the problem after you do a clean boot
to identify the root cause of the issue.
