Windows 10: My PC keeps prioritizing HDD instead of SSD.

Hello,Few months ago my reading and writing speed was running fine on big games I was using on Steam. When suddenly loading times and games crashed because of my HDD. I later found out that causing the problems was because of my SSD wasnt doing its job. I checked my folders and all games installed into my SSD were for some weird reason running on my HDD, which is a big problem. I checked my BIOS and installed all my SSD files again and it still only runs on my HDD. The only type of life i get from my SSD is some random spikes, and thats all. My HDD keeps running at 100% where as my SSD runs at

Hello. If the HDD is C:\Windows then the HDD will be used. The HDD will be close to 30 mb/s max it is just how it is depending on the rpm disk speed. To improve HDD speeds is to turn off indexing on the HDD and change enviromental values to SSD. If you can afford it you could buy a usb dual HDD docking station and a SSD and press the clone button to clone the drive to a new ssd and replace the hdd with the ssd and use the old hdd as a plug-in back up disk.

My HDD keeps running at 100% where as my SSD runs at 0-1%. I struggle playing games that were working fine a month or two ago

Btw I play CIties Skylines, GTA, CS, and more

Can you please let me know have you installed Windows in the SSD or HDD?

If your Windows is installed in the HDD the loading of the assets will be done in the HDD only and not SSD. The SSD where the games are installed will be a storage to access the game files, but the actual loading will take place where your Windows is installed.

I have faced this issue when I was using HDD for main Windows and SSD for backup install of games.
