  1. My pc keeps thinking the LALT key is pressed down even if I unplug the keyboard

About 2 weeks ago I started a game when I noticed, I couldn't execute most of the commands by pressing the normal keys. I went into the 'controls' menu, to see if any keybinds were deleted trying to rebind them. Everytime I reset the binding, it instantly bound the key with 'LALT' leading to me noticing what the actualy problem was. I tested it by opening the onscreen keyboard, where the LALT key was also shown as active.I tried inactivating the key manually by tapping it many times and I also tried unplugging the keyboard but none of this helped in any way. Since this day, the problem seems t

  3. Windows UI thinks some keys are being pressed down.

Windows 10 thinks I'm holding down the arrow key. This happens on Windows menus and programs. There is no problem on other programs. Browsers, notepad, Discord etc work just fine, it's just Windows that is freaking out. The problem persists even if I unplug my keyboard and navigate using my mouse. I have tried:

    • Rebooting
    • Changing the USB port
    • Changing the keyboard
    • Uninstalling my keyboard drivers, unplugging and then plugging in the keyboard again
    • Unplugging and uninstalling my Xbox controller
    • Running Malwarebytes
Do not suggest re-installing Windows, I'm not going to do that. Unless there is some other fix to this, I'll just nuke my windows installation and switch to Linux permanently.

    Sincerely,

Windows 10 Laptop Keyboard Keys Acting Strange

    Hi,

I realize that you are facing issues with the keyboard on your PC. I will try to help you with this issue.

Suggest you to plug in an external keyboard to the laptop to check if that helps.

Further you may also use the onscreen keyboard to check if that helps.

Follow these steps to launch the On-screen keyboard:

    • Press Windows key + R to get the run window.

    • Type “osk” and hit enter to launch the On-screen keyboard and check if this helps.

Keep us informed to help you further.

    Thank you.
