Windows 10: My PC lags for no reason during videos and games.

Hello i didn't use my pc for about a week and then when i used it i noticed audio and video lags for no reason. whenever i watch a video on youtube it lags for a few frames every 30 secs or so but when i watch a downloaded video the lags are much more prominent and annoying. And it's even worse during games. I can't play anything for the massive input and framerate lag. I've tried to solve this by deleting temp folder files, closing startup and unnecessary programs, scanning all my hard disks and also updated my graphics card driver but it didn't work.

Card games lagging!

If it's an online game, the lag issue may have been caused by your Internet connection. It can also occur due to the game server issue. We'll need to gather a bit more information to better identify what's causing this. Kindly answer the following:

• Have you made any changes prior to this issue?
• What card game are you having issues with?
• Is the issue the same with other games?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far to resolve the issue?

Since it's happening with both controllers but not keyboard the problem could be the controllers, but just as likely it could be other causes of lagging in games we can go over first:

2) If the above steps don't help then go over this checklist to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done:

Start with Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders which can conflict and cause issues, then Step 7 to check for infection the most thorough way, then step 10 to check for damaged System Files, and also Step 16 to test a new Local Admin account. Then continue with the other steps to go over your install most thoroughly.

3) Update your drivers and BIOS/UEFI firmware from PC or motherboard maker's Support Downloads web page, using the full model number, Serial Number or Dell Service Tag on sticker. Compare the latest drivers available for download with the ones presently installed in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start button. Make sure you have the latest BIOS or UEFI firmware, Chipset, Display (Video), Sound, USB3, Bluetooth, Network and all other drivers, or else download and install the latest now.

Updating drivers from the Device Manager or Windows Update is rarely enough. The most basic thing we need to learn to maintain a PC is keep the latest manufacturer's drivers installed from their Support Downloads web page.

4) If nothing else works then do a Repair Install, by installing Media Creation Tool, open tool and choose to Upgrade Now. If none of those help then we'll move on to try fixes for Xbox and PS4 controllers, also other hardware tests.
