Windows 10: My pc locked me out & the only option via a "Microsoft account" pop-up box is email a PIN...

I can't work out how to resolve this despite reading all the Microsoft help content! I have full access to my @hotmail.co.uk account so I don't understand why I'm not getting the emails & there's no option to receive it by text. I think it's Windows 10 but am not 100% sure of the number.

We appreciate the screenshot that you provided. to start troubleshooting the issue with you logins, we suggest that you follow the steps below on how login pin goes back to password:

• Click Start menu and go to Settings.
• In Settings, click the Accounts icon.
• Click on Sign-in options.
• Change both your password and pin one by one.

Need help creating a PIN for a Microsoft Email Account

I have a second microsoft email account setup in Outlook (standalone app) and out of the blue today Windows Hello popped up and is asking me to verify the account with a PIN. To my knowledge this account account has never had a PIN. I've been going around in circles trying to create one and can't find the correct settings. I can log into the account in a browser no problem. I also have the account setup in the Microsoft Authenticator app on my phone. Windows Hello says go to Settings/Sign-in Options, but those settings in Windows 10 are for the primary Microsoft Account that I sign into Windows with. I've tried finding an option to reset the PIN after logging into the secondary account in a browser, but so far I can't find it. Currently Microsoft Outlook has stopped downloading messages for this account. I would like to get it working again and any help from you all will be greatly appreciated. TIA

As per the issue description you have two email id's and you want to change your secondary email to primary on your pc.



I would suggest you to switch the login account to Local user account. Then switch back to Microsoft account which you want to use. You may follow the steps provided below:



Step 1: Switch to local user account

Follow these steps to create a “Local User account”.

• Press “Windows key +W”.
• Type “users” without quotes in the search box.
• Then select “Users” from the left panel.
• You will get an option “Switch to a Local account” right below your user account name.
• Select “Switch to a local account” option.
• Enter the required details.
• Then login to the local account and check how it works.

Step 2: Switch back to Microsoft account

Follow these steps to create a “Microsoft account”.

• Press “Windows key +W”.
• Type “users” without quotes in the search box.
• Then select “Users” from the left panel.
• Select “Switch to Microsoft account” right below your user account name.
• Enter the required details (Primary Email ID).
• Restart the computer and then try to login using new Primary account.
