Screen turns black and it restarts. It happens like 1-2 times a day, sometimes i can play all day without crash. Crashes happens randomly, doesnt matter if i play or just browsing. Pc will crash randomly to black screen with yellow dram light on

Occasionally my pc will crash to black screen and reboot after a few seconds. The dram light is a solid yellow. I check the qvl list and my ram isn’t on it but otherwise it runs fine and I did memtest86 and it ran fine on all 4 passes with no errors. Could it be my psu or something else? Try to get new ram? If there are any tests that I could try to run to figure this out it would be great. My bios and drivers are all up to date and I tried clearing the cmos too.

   • BIOS Settings: Ensure your RAM is set to the correct speed, timings, and voltage as recommended by the manufacturer. Sometimes, if automatic settings (like XMP/DOCP profiles) are not fully compatible with your motherboard, it can cause instability.
     
2. Memory Tests
   
   • Extended MemTest86: Running MemTest86 for four passes is a good start, but sometimes errors only show up after longer periods. Consider running it overnight or up to 8 times for a more thorough check.
     
   • Windows Memory Diagnostic: Another tool you can try is the built-in Windows Memory Diagnostic. Restart your computer and search for it in the start menu. It can be used as a quick check.
     
3. Hardware Tests and Swaps
   
   • Use other software to test your other hardware: Since there's no official Microsoft software capable of testing hardware performance comprehensively, you're encouraged to search online for third-party software for testing.
     
   • Test Each RAM Stick Individually: If you have multiple RAM sticks, try running your computer with just one stick at a time. This can help identify if a specific stick is causing issues.
     
   • Swap Slots: Also, try swapping the RAM into different slots on your motherboard. Sometimes, the issue can be related to the motherboard slots themselves.
     
   • PSU Check: A failing PSU can cause various issues, including crashes. Testing with another PSU, if you have access to one, can rule this out.
     
   • Check for Overheating: Use third-party software to ensure your CPU and GPU temperatures are within normal ranges. Overheating can cause crashes.
     
4. Software and Drivers
   
   • Driver Verification: Although you mentioned your drivers are up to date, consider checking through Device Manager to ensure drivers are correctly installed. Also, consider using Windows' built-in Driver Verifier tool to identify any driver-related issues.
     
   • Check Event Viewer: Look into the Windows Event Viewer for any critical errors or warnings that happen around the time of the crashes.
