Windows 10: My PC recently just decided on it's own that from then on it will go into sleep mode after...

Before then the screen would just go black until i press sonething or move the mouse a bit, that how it was on every computer i had and how i liked it.

Then suddenly it started going into this different mode where the screen would remain black and the power button is blinking on and off and it won't boot up until i press the power button once, and pressed sign in ( account) on the screen.

Then it randomly wen't back to normal for a few weeks, move a mouse, the screen lights up, that's it.

Now my pc randomly decided to return to the mode where i have to press the power button if i didn't do anything for 30 minutes or so. AGAIN.

Why does this happen and how do i fix it? Do the srttings somehow change on their own or what?

Im using Windows 10.

Hi disgruntledWC,

There could be other settings on your computer that triggers your computer to go on sleep even though the sleep settings is set to never. To ensure that the sleep and display settings are properly set, I suggest that you look into the Advanced Power Settings.
Follow these steps:

• Open Control Panel and click Power Options.
• On your preferred plan, click Change plan settings.
• Click advanced power settings.
• Expand Sleep option, and make sure to set the following:

Sleep after : Never

Hibernate after : Never

5. Click Apply, then OK.

Please check also the screen saver option.

• Navigate to Settings > Personalization > Lock screen.
• Click Screen saver settings.
• Set your Screen saver to None.
• Click Apply, then OK.

Once done, please observe if your computer still goes to sleep mode after a few minutes of inactivity.
