Windows 10: My pc refuse to open after a reset. Says the user service failed the sign in.

so i was resetting my pc to factory default and during the reset a notification popped up about the tpm asking me to whether delete the tpm configuration or to continue without it with a warning sign and then the computer started undoing changes and im back on the old lock screen but it fails to open says the user service failed the sign in. i'm stuck in the lock screen. how do i get it to work? is there a way to reset it or should i visit the store right away? please help me out..

Hello,

When attempting to login to my computer, I get the following message:

"The User Profile Service service failed the sign-in.

User profile cannot be loaded."

I referred to this Help article,You receive a "The User Profile Service failed the logon” error
message,

but the only difference is I only have one user profile on this computer. So, I can't login with another user to go through the steps listed in this post.

Any suggestions?

I am using registry editor from command prompt. Drilled down to c:windows\system32\config inside the Load Hive dialog window. Have selected (checked box) the SAM file; clicking on Open opens error message that says:


SAM
This file is in use.
Enter a new name or close the file that's open in another program.

I am at a loss, since I am not running any other program!

Any suggestions?

The SAM file is listed as being 64KB file size.

 

User Profile Service service failed the sign-in

Few days ago i switched on my laptop and it took me to diagnosis and repair. After this, i tried to login (i use local account only) but pc was giving me error "User Profile Service service failed the sign-in". I havent been able to login since. I have tried
a few things including:

- Restarting computer on normal mode.

- Restarting computer on all safe modes available (the safe modes still require me to login, aand keeps saying user profile service failed the sign in.

- I tried reseting (keeping personal files) three times but it refuses to do so. Says it has encountered a problem hence wont reset.

- Sadly i dont have any good restore point hence system restore is a invalid option for me.

- I tried creating windows 10 boot usb for repair but not sure if theres something i am doing wrong becoz it doesnt give me the option of using the usb.

If anyone can point me to a better solution i will be grateful.

PS: i had the latest Windows 10 (home) that i upgraded from online like a few weeks ago.
