  1. My PC reports a wrong usage value in one of my drives

Hello. My non-system "D:\" drive's total capacity is approximately 341 GB, of which 300 GB I'm actually using. Yet, the OS shows that there's no more than 14 GB is left unused as shown in the picture. Furthermore, after I ran chkdsk and TreeSize scan, I found that there's no hidden files nor system files dwells in the drive, therefore the "additional" 27.2 GB used space has enigmatically popped up from nowhere.Any solutions please? I'm currently using Windows 11 Pro 21H2 on Lenovo ideapad 320 PC and my HDD model is WDC WD10SPCX-24HWST1. I've tried updating my disk driver but it's already the la

  2. Child's Usage Report

    Hi

I have parental controls setup on my stepdaughters laptop and get a usage report every Wednesday. The usage report comes through to my googlemail email address. I only get an overview of the report and when I click to look at the report in more depth it
asks me to sign in to a microsoft account. I have a hotmail account but this isn't linked to the usage report, so I'm really confused as to how I can see a full report.

Any ideas of what I am doing wrong?

    Strange Value Drive

    Hi Chiranjit,

It seems that this particular drive was not assigned a drive letter (for eg: drive H: or drive DMy PC reports a wrong usage value in one of my drives :) and hence it is displayed as with such a label. May we know if you have made any changes to your computer prior to this issue? I would suggest you to go to
disk management tool and assign a letter to this drive. Refer to these steps:

    • Press Windows key + X, select Disk
      management.
    • Locate the drive with the label shown in the image.
    • Right click on that drive and select Change drive letter and paths.
    • Now select the drive and click on the change button.
    • Select assign the following drive letter and choose a drive letter that hasn’t been assigned to any other drive.
    • Click Ok to save changes.

Now check if the drive is listed in File Explorer and if you are able to access its contents.

Update us with the results so we can further assist you.

My PC reports a wrong usage value in one of my drives

    Wrong vram usage

@W1zzard: does GPU-Z read that value from DirectX?

I seem to remember reading somewhere that DirectX counts both (or all) cards together as used memory despite the fact that the data is simply duplicated on each card, with the justification being that the memory is still in use; it's just not a single pool with unique data on each card. I.E. reporting 4GB (2 cards x 2GB) out of 6GB (2 cards x 3GB) usage

If I had half a clue where I read that, I'd link source but I haven't the foggiest.

EDIT - I seemed to remember Afterburner doing the same thing when I had two 58X0 cards, so I just checked, and indeed, in BF4 x64 MSI AB's onscreen display reports:

Crossfire disabled, it reports usage of GPU MEM1 as 32MB and GPU MEM2 as a little over two gigs,

Crossfire enabled, it reports usage of GPU MEM1 as 4194304MB and GPU MEM2 as 5604MB

This is with my two 290Xes at 5760x1080, so regardless of where the value is coming from be it driver or DX, it's just summing memory usage.
