    My pc seems to have mixed up my screens in display settings


    So I have a laptop and a monitor attached to it, but for some reason one day my monitor was distorted very widely, and when I opened display settings it showed my larger monitor as the smaller one. What should I do?

    Hi William,

    It is important that you have the correct screen display and resolution. We suggest that you perform the following steps to reset the monitor settings:

    • Boot your computer in
      safe mode      .
    • Once in safe mode, right-click the desktop > Screen Resolution.
    • Change the display settings back to the original configuration.
    • Restart your computer.

    Feel free to update us on the result.

    • Did you check the Windows Mixed Reality
      HP on a different computer?
    • Are you aware of any changes in the PC prior to this issue?

    However, we would suggest you to perform these methods and check if the issue persists.

    Method 1: Troubleshoot
    Mixed Reality headset displays

    We would suggest you to perform the steps as referred under Mixed Reality headset display in this article:
    Troubleshooting Windows Mixed Reality.

    Method 2: New user account

    This issue may be due to a profile corruption. Hence, in order to eliminate possibilities, we would suggest you to create a new user account and check. Follow the steps from the article

    Create a local user or administrator account in Windows 10     to create a new user account.
