Windows 10: My PC starts from sleep mode incorrectly

This issue occurred recently and it is difficult to distinguish what triggered it. When I wake up my PC from the Sleep Mode, I watch the screen without any signal but the keyboard and a mouse light up. However a few moments later the keyboard and the mouse turn off and the PC gets to a booting process and requires me to enter the password. What’s the matter?

Thank you for posting on Microsoft community.

To understand the issue better, I suggest you to answer the below questions.

• How are trying to start the computer from the sleep mode?
• Since from when are you facing this issue?
• Did you make any changes prior to the issue?
• Are you able to shut down or restart the machine?
• What happens when you try to come out of Sleep mode?

I would suggest you to force shutdown the computer and start the computer and check what happens.

If you are able to login to normal mode then follow the below steps to restore the power setting/plan to default.

• Press Windows + X keys, and select the option
  Control Panel.
• Click on the Power Options icon.
• Click on Change plan settings.
• Select the option “Restore default settings for this plan”.

I recommend that you run the power troubleshooter.

Take the following steps:

1. Press Windows+I keys to open Settings

2. Locate Update & Security, then Troubleshoot.

3. Click on Power and Run the troubleshooter.

If the issue is still there, try to disable Fast Startup:

1. Press Windows+R keys to open Run box.

2. Type Control and click on OK.

3. Choose Large icons from the drop down menu for View by.

4. Click on Power Options and on Choose what Power buttons do.

5. Press Change settings that are currently unavailable.

6. Remove the check by Turn on Fast Startup.

7. Click on Save Changes.

Or, take the following steps to disable Hybrid Sleep:

1. Press Windows+R keys to open Run box.

2. Type control powercfg.cpl,,3 and click on OK.

3. Select the active power plan from the drop down menu.

4. Double click on Sleep, expand Allow hybrid sleep and select OFF and OK.
