My PC wakes up but my monitors would indicate no display source

So, I have a pc and I added a new monitor the main one on display port the other on HDMI I have gtx 1080 and ryzen AMD Ryzen 7 1800X. when I manually put it on sleep the pc would wake up without the monitor working which would lead to me restarting the pc then it starts fine since the hybrid sleep is on the pc would load what was on before sleep. Any idea why is that happening and why isn't it exactly waking up ?it happened 2-3 times that the pc ended up loading the bios settings for no reason and then I press don't save and exit for it to start normally.

    :)

  2. Monitor will not wake from sleep

When my PC wakes from sleep it always used to wake the monitor as well but now when the PC wakes the monitor does not respond. The only way to solve the problem is to do a hard reset of the PC. The PC is definitely waking from sleep. it is just the monitor.

I have read multiple forums trying to find a solution but nothing seems to work. things I have tried:

    • updating BIOS
    • restoring Windows
    • running Windows Update
    • trying a different monitor
    • checking monitor settings
    • turning off Fast Startup
    • Running Troubleshooter Power
    • turning off Link State Power Management
    • Restarting in Safe Mode
    • Updating and Rolling Back the display adaptor
    • checking that keyboard and mouse can wake the PC
    • probably a few more that I have forgotten
    Asus PN51

    Windows 11Home 64 bit

    AMD Ryzen 7 5700u

    AMD Radeon Graphics

    Any suggestions gratefully received

  3. PC Crashes on Wake Up from Sleep After Installing Windows 10 Anniversary Update

    Hi Juzar,

Thank you for your quick reply.

I followed the steps in the article you linked to but they did not resolve the issue.

The video driver has not changed since it's last release 7/15/2015 (AMD Radeon HD 7560D Driver Version 15.200.1060.0). I tried some previous troubleshooting steps suggested by AMD which included completely uninstalling the driver and reinstalling but that
didn't work either. I even upgraded to a beta driver to see if that would help per AMD's suggestions, but that didn't work.

Since this problem ONLY started happening AFTER installing the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, my suspicion is that something in that update changed the Wake Up from Sleep behavior on the PC.

When the problem occurs on wake form sleep it's always my secondary monitor that displays the cursor and black screen while my primary monitor won't display anything. That seems to indicate the video driver is not loading properly on wake up which would
    be a Windows 10 issue.

Search results seem to indicate a lot of other users are having the same problem.

Do you have any other suggestions?

    Thanks again!

Dual monitors not waking from sleep

    Hi all,

I'm having issues where my monitors won't wake from sleep in a dual monitor setup. This only occurs after waking them from a sleep state, and they work fine when booting up my PC from scratch.

I have tested both monitors in a single monitor setup and the issue goes away completely as they wake from sleep just fine when only using a single monitor. This issue only seems to occur when using both monitors simultaneously.

I have tried the below steps to no avail to remedy the issue:

    • Changed the DisplayPort cable
    • Uninstalled graphics drivers with DDU and reinstalled them again
    • Made sure Windows update was completely up-to-date, including any optional drivers
    • Made sure there were no unknown devices in Device Manager
    • Turned Link State Power Management under PCI Express in Power Plan settings to off
    • Completely formatted my PC and reinstalled Windows 11
None of these steps have resolved the issue.

Any assistance provided will be much appreciated!
