Windows 10: My PC was reset, and now stuck in some kind of default with no apps or account?

Hi, I’m just a kid trying to give their laptop to a friend. It was slow anyways, so I reset it to factory default. Thinking they could then use their own account to login and personalize it. I went through a whole process of trying to login, following microsoft tutorials for admin rights and whatnot. I ended up logging in to an empty administrative account. I was overjoyed until I realized- I couldn’t do anything.There’s a black background with no apps, not even settings. I tried plugging in my flash drive to no avail. I restarted just to be logged in automatically. I can’t even get into the start menu. I’ve looked for someone with a similar problem for hours and came up with nothing. Please help, this is really stressing me out...

Mail and Calendar app stuck on Creating account

All,
My Mail and Calendar app has failed to work since this morning.
It stopped receiving any mail this morning, with the reset of the mail app pretty much making it useless.



I have reset the app, restarted the computer and now the next step if it has to happen, a FULL reset of the computer.
Is there any problems with the way Gmail has been set up today?
I am running Windows 10 1903 x64 on a Lenovo 330-15ikb.

Undo Built-in Administrator Account tied to a Microsoft Account

Hello @Converseallstar95,

Could it be that the built-in Administrator may just be signed in to the Store app with the Microsoft account?

If so, then you could reset the "Microsoft Store" app back to default to see if that may remove the association.

If not, then check to see if it may be listed using step 3 in Option Two below, and can be removed.

Lost default photo viewer after profile rebuild

Thanks Brink. I've tried those steps before i started searching Google. After the profile rebuild i don't have the Photo app listed to choose to make it default in either the system settings for default apps or the Open With option.

I can't even find it doing a search. Seems to have been removed somehow with the profile rebuild, which doesn't make sense.

Might be helpful to list what i've done I've done the open with check, the choose default program in the system menu, tried that in device manager default programs also. I've checked the programs and features Turn windows features on/off and it's not listed there (never thought it was but that was a suggestion), searched the MS Store, it's not listed there either.

I don't like playing in the registry unless i have defined steps and haven't found anything for this yet, just the Win7 version like in my OP.
