Windows 10: My PC won't detect Paint 3D as an app that can edit photos- even when I click the 'Edit...

Paint 3D has been working fine ever since I've had this computer, but today whenever I try to edit a screenshot or any image file with Paint3D my computer won't detect it. I can open up the app and draw things or open up these image files into Paint3D if I run the app first without a hitch, but for some reason, the edit with the Paint3D drop-down option refuses to work.I have tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the app, resetting the app, and using the troubleshooter to try and solve this issue with Paint3D but none of these fixes have worked.
